[Mono-list] Trouble with running Mono - pointed at wrong prefix

When I execute the ' mono' command at the command line, it returns
'bash: /home/username/mono-1.2.4/bin/mono: No such file or directory'
But thats not where mono is installed. Mono is installed at /usr, so it
should be looking at
/usr/bin/mono
How do I change the prefix? This is also affecting my Banshee and
MonoDevelop installs

Thanks,
