[Mono-list] Mono applications run really slow on Solaris

I am using Mono 1.1.18 on Solaris Ultra Sparc (both Ultra II and Ultra III 
single processor) and the applications run really slowly. Specially I am
noticing that memory intensive applications run a whole lot slower than the
equivalent program on x86 Mono on Linux (in these cases, the slowness is of
the order of 1000 times). This is making our Mono application unusable on
Solaris. 

I search the bugzilla list for this problem and came to:

It seems that nothing has been done on this bug. Is it possible to get this
problem fixed? We are willing to work with Mono solaris person one on one to
get this resolved. I can also attach a sample program to bug 79463 to
illustrate this - but this problem does not seem to require any example
because pretty much any program runs way slower on Sparc.
