The code generated by VS 2005 is generated in a particular layout and
with some particular tags that are not supported.  Thats what I meant by
setup.

Yes, Oracle does work (you need to install the Oracle drivers yourself).

I heard a rumor that there is a plugin for Visual Studio 2005 that will
make it generate code for the "old" setup, but any use of the new
ASP.NET 2.0 features is unsupported
