You need to have any referenced assemblies installed in Mono's GAC.

That being said, I have my doubts that just copying
Microsoft.SharePoint.dll to Linux will work as I doubt it has even been
tested on Linux (and then you should look at the license for the
library, it might not allow it to be used on non-Windows operating
systems).
