I have some pointers here:

in building in sparc, not alot but not trivial either

I have another question. The config script always find /usr/ccs/bin/ld
instead of the one that is in my path. To avoid this I moved /usr/ccs/bin to
/usr/ccs/binhidden. So now it finds the one in ~/bin. What are other tricks
that people use so that I don't have to modify the "core" filesystem.
