Mono 2.0 doesn't exist. The current version is 1.2.*.

Remoting should work exactly like in Windows. If it doesn't,
it is a bug, that you can report at http://mono-project.com/Bugs.

Please notice that Mono's .NET 2.0 remoting is currently not complete
(secure channels, generic methods on remoting interfaces).
