Wrong. I am using plain Debian Sid, and IronPython 0.9.5 works without
problems.

apt-get install mono mono-classlib-2.0

Wrong. This is absolutely unnecessary if you install properly. Following
apt-get line or install from source both work.

apt-get install libgtk2.0-cil

Sure. Have some common sense, look at Gtk# documentation, and
experiment.

If you are that much in hurry, here it is: (took 30 minutes or so for
me, and this is my first time using Gtk#.)
