The port has been maintained for some time now.  I took it up shortly
after the last maintainer left.  Ports for each new release are usually
done that day and available in my project tree.  (I've even beat
Ximian's release announcements a few times.)  They usually get committed
to the FreeBSD tree a week after that.

The majority of our problems lay in FreeBSD's libpthread right now.
Until a threads developer looks at what Mono needs we are mildly
limited.
