Hi there,
Mono is the .NET development framework and the .NET runtime and all
associated tools. But also note that a given application might need .NET
runtime, but this doesn't mean that all of it is written in .NET. For
example, a windows app can use MFC and only a few portions of it could
be using the .NET runtime. If the whole application is written in .NET
and doesn't depend on Windows-based libraries used in P/Invoke, it is
*highly* possible that the application will work out of the box on Linux
with Mono.
