looks like xsp was getting confused somewhere. i had mono installed on
NLD thru red-carpet and then i had installed 1.1.4 using the generic
installer.

i removed all mono installations and did a clean install of 1.1.4 and
then xsp and mod_mono from 1.0.6 and it worked fine with me .
