Tim - As I understand it, URPMI & co are tools that work specifically
for version of Mandrake Linux. I am not sure if it will work on a Red
Hat 9 machine.
Brian - In the future, one of the possibilities for avoiding this sort
of problem wrt package dependencies is to use Red Carpet, a tool that
will figure out dependencies for you. You can get it from:
ftp://ftp.novell.com:/pub/ximian/redcarpet2/redhat-9-i386
Once you have Red Carpet installed, you can subscribe to the 'mono' and
'mono-1.1' channel, which will then provide you access to our packages.
