Hi Joseph,
I went to http://www.arcfocus.com/AspNetForums/ and I'm seeing HTTP 500
errors when I go into the forums.  Is your PostgreSQL server down?

Hello Guy,

I've had very good luck porting SQL Server apps over to PostgreSQL.  There
is not perfect feature parity there, but it is close enough to get the job
done very well, and PostgreSQL seems to be very powerful and stable.

So far, I've ported the IBuySpy Portal (
http://www.arcfocus.com/PortalCS/DesktopDefault.aspx ) and the ASP.NET
Forums ( http://www.arcfocus.com/AspNetForums/ ) to run on Mono with
PostgreSQL.

I am sure this is a fairly common problem. I am porting a Enterprise
application (M$ .NET, C# and SQL Server) to Mono-1.



Which are the best SQL platforms to target? (Compatibility vs.
Stability/Enterprise Features)

-          PostGreSQL

-          SAP DB

-          Interbase

-          mySQL  - does not have a good rep for Enterprise-apps.

-          DB 2

-          Sybase - I assume this is most compatible, as they share common
roots. But is this open-source and stable?

-          Are there any others?



Lastly, how do the existing db-libs stack up in terms of stability?
