[Mono-list] Problems installing mono in RedHat 8

We have RedHat 8 (kernel 2.4.20), and we are trying to install RedCarpet
in order to install Mono. During the installation process, the following
error came out:

Error: failed dependencies: libpthread.o.so.O (GLIBC_2.3.2)

How could we solve this problem?
