I suspect that's due to the release schedules for Mono and SuSE 9.1. 
We'll see what happens with the next SuSE release, which will be the
first constructed after the Novell purchase.  If they ship with a decent
version of Gnome 2.8, use the new Xorg server, and include the Mono
suite, it oughta be pretty sweet. However, I hope that the good stuff
isn't confined to the expensive enterprise editions carrying the Novell
brand, while SuSE sticks with its traditional focus.
