Providing support for non-XML comments. Period.
Well, what you is all valid if there's a world of one standard format / view.
There are two ways to look at anything:
-- Standards/Specifications: Everything is uniform, behaving in same
way. No "separate" extensions lest they make way into specifications.
-- Custom/Personal: One's own favourite, providing extensibility. May
lead to breaking interop but may be providing enhanced non-standard
features.
IE provides several non-Javascript1.2 enhancements. People love
them. Mozilla works right on standards. People still love them... but
some wished those enhancements of IE.
I hope you get the core idea. :-)
