[Mono-list] Codepage 1252

Hi all,

I'm trying to evaluate a commercial .NET application (originally written in
C#) for use with Mono under RH9.

Although the software largely runs as expected (i.e. in the same way as it
does under the MS .NET runtime) there are occasions when it bombs out with
the error "Codepage 1252 not supported". Having hunted through the
newsgroups this looks to me like an issue with different character sets
being supported between MS Windows and Linux. However, I've not come across
this before so am not sure. Is this a limitation of Mono or am I missing a
dependency somewhere?

I have installed the core components of Mono beta1 from the RPMs on the
website (along with the dependencies necessary to allow installation). I
realise that I haven't provided any detail about the application itself but
because it is commercial software I do not have access to the source code.
Before I go back to the vendor I'd like to verify that it's not something
obvious relating to Mono which I've missed.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Best wishes,

Andrew Reilly
