Tracy, if you do it all from Cooker and CVS/source, it's much more fun

I been building from from source. But it gets bloody tedious, and I have things I would rather be/have to be doing like developing sites. When Mandrake rpms were available on Red Carpet, I was able to get the entire Mono suite installed, that was 0.28. But now I have only what I absolutely need for the moment ASP.NET mono runtime and mod mono.
