You haven't installed mcs which is contained in the mono-devel package =
in red-carpet.

If you want to build mono from scratch, and intend to keep up with daily =
builds, then I would suggest getting the daily mono build from =
http://www.go-mono.com/daily/ and starting from there.

Generally, when trying to build you should either run autogen.sh or =
configure. Both of these will accept the same command line flags. So, =
if the docs say to run ./configure --prefix=3D/path/to/mono, you can =
also run ./autogen.sh --prefix=3D/path/to/mono

I hope that helps.

Subject:	[Mono-list] Trouble installing mono (Red Hat 9.0)
I'm having trouble installing mono onto my Red Hat 9.0 OS...

- I've downloaded mono-0.26-1.ximian.6.1.i386.rpm
- I've downloaded and installed apxs
- I've downloaded and installed httpd-devel-2.0.40-21.3.i386.rpm
- I've downloaded xsp-0.5 but couldn't install it because "mcs: command =
not=20
found"
- I downloaded and ran "./mono-build.sh", but I ended up with errors =
like=20
"/usr/bin/install: cannot stat './System.Windows.Forms.dll': No such =
file or=20

directory
- I downloaded and ran configure with mono-0.26-1.ximian.6.1.i386.rpm , =
but=20
when I run make I'm missing some files: mod_mono.c:57:26: =
mono/jit/jit.h:=20
No such file or directory.

I'm a beginer at installing Linux software... I've been following=20
directions as best I can. Does anyone have any idea what I haven't =
done?

                         Thank you!
                         Ian,
