[Mono-list] Is the "out of sync" message just a warning?

I have the .NET SDK 1.1 and VS.NET installed and the MCS module from CVS
compiles just fine with Mono 0.25 and the .NET SDK 1.1, however the Mono
module's configure script dies in CYGWIN when checking for GLIB. I
compiled the MCS module successfully and overwrote MCS and the libraries
in my Mono 0.25 folder with the new stuff from CVS. When I compiled a
simple file i/o test I wrote to see if it worked, it worked just fine even
though I get the usual "you need to update both mono and mcs" message. I
thought that was an error message, is it in fact just a warning message?
