[Mono-list] Building Mono on Win32

I'm using the mono-build-w32.sh script to build Mono on Win32, but
automake complains about my (ActiveState, not cygwin) Perl
installation (see below for error messages).

Is there anything short of additionally installing (if possible) of
the cygwin Perl package that I can do about this?

Checking automake version

**Error**: You must have `automake' installed to compile Mono.

(or a newer version if it is available)
