[Mono-list] CVS code automake fails on RedHat 8.0

Apparently the version of automake that ships with RedHAt 8.0 is too new
for mono or something. When I run autogen.sh, I get (everything else up
to that point is the same as on my redhat73 box and seems to work
dispite a number of warnings):
