[Mono-list] Patch: MONO_ROOT environment variable in mono_set_rootdir()

The patch is ok with me (modulo formatting which breaks the Mono style),
but I have a question: why would you need this feature?  MONO_PATH can
probably achieve the same effect.

Also, introducing new variables like this should also include a patch to
the documentation ;-)
