i'd be very happy if this could remain part of the "official" naming in
general.

logos are hard to port to non-graphic surfaces.
the monkey won't survive beyond web pages and t-shirts,
"mono" itself is not very distinguished.

think ascii. email signatures, manpages, plain text in general.
the :: notation is just an ideal enhancement.
it is short, does not mess up the look&feel with side effects -- like
e.g. divx;) does, and the c++-sidekick is invaluable.

that does not mean that a graphical logo this thread is about would not
be a nice add-on. but if i had to choose between the notation and
a mascot, i'd stick with the notation in first place.
