There is no such concern. We want to help you experiment with the idea,
so avoiding code duplication would help reducing the effort of
keeping the patch in sync, for example.
When the current issues are worked out we'll consider integrating it in
the tree if you agree, in the meantime, feel free to suggest what we can
do in the tree to help your effort.
I'll try to review the code in the next few days.
