At mono.baselabs.org (linked to as source of RPMs) there is also a nice
.tar.gz containing a snapshot of the CVS tree WITH prebuild dlls and
exes, so with a simple ./autogen.sh && make && make install you don't
even need RPM or deb support.

PS normally the packages (RPM, SRPM and tarballs) are updated every
weekday. I've just returned from a shor tholiday, so there are a few
days missing ... tomorrow they should be "fresh" again :)
