I'm not sure what you mean, but if you're talking about the X Window System,
you can't directly program against it, without using a toolkit like gtk+.
Programming directly would mean creating something like gtk or qt.

This was already discussed, and may be alot of work.

As you know I am new here in the list, but why you don't want to use the
X-Window to implement the Windows.Form.... It will be faster, and more
poryable in Un** systems! I belive that Ximian has a lot of great developers
who can do it!!
