I actually have the .NET CF for RC0, (we run RC3 currently at work).
Have played around with the CF for a few weeks. It ties in nicely
with VS.NET.
Sorry I don't have sizes to date, but on the same ipaq which has ran
the Linux Familiar distro...obviously straight C is quicker. Yet, I
think it's premature to compare speed and performance.
The reason we are in so early on the .NET CF is because we are 50%
thru a large corporate project (rewrite). And a portion of it is
barcode scanners, which I am going to program with .NET (the scanners
run wince).
I can tell you this... VS.NET ties nicely with CF...you won't notice
the diff. There are still a few glitches and the obvious lighter
weight.
Sorry...I'm new to the list...have been reading for a few weeks. My
time is sort of limited with the company project...but perhaps I will
be of some help on mono eventually. I will post questions about mono
on a new thread. ;)
