The Cygwin build process is broken at the moment. (Could someone change the
download page to reflect this?)
Bare in mind that the runtime development takes place on Linux -- at a fast
pace -- and so while mono previously compiled under this platform, it has since
fallen out of sync. Several people are working on rectifying the situation.
If you want to fix your latest compile error, add the following two lines to
io-layer.h before the line that says #include <w32api/windows.h>:
#define __USE_W32_SOCKETS
#include <w32api/w32api.h>
After this you'll likely get a bit further and hit another compile error, so be
prepared to do some more hacking :) If you can't be bothered with this, it's
probably best to wait for a new Win32 build to be released.
FWIW, I develop and test most of my classes using only the Microsoft SDK.
Dan.
