[Mono-list] mcs on linux

So I have just attempted to compile mono and mcs from cvs on my linux box,
but I obviously was not able to compile mcs.  What is the status and 
situation regarding building mcs on linux.  I can't find info about how to
get mcs to compile on linux go-mono.com website, though there is a lot 
about cygwin.  I noticed in the mailing list that someone compiled mcs 
with winex, but what is needed in order to get mcs to build nativley under
linux?
