We do block postings by non-members.  But new spam software is more
clever than ever.  They fake the email `From' to match that from someone
on the mailing list from scanning the mailing list archives.

The only solution I have found myself to cope with Spam is to use
SpamAssassin + Razor, and that is getting very good results for my own
personal inbox.
