I've been working on the app server you mentioned, it is meant to natively 
host various kinds of applications such as remoting, web, ftp, etc...all in 
managed c#.

mod_haydn (for apache) is also being developed. 
(http://haydn.sourceforge.net/)  It currently supports a subset of the 
Apache 1.3 api.

Covalant supports a commerical version of Apache 2.0 that supports ASP.NET
http://www.covalent.net/products/enterprise_ready/

However, more open source asp.net support for apache is still needed.
