if you spot any differences between mono and mscli, it always helps if
you attach simple demo.

regarding the type checks: you mean throwing ArgumentExceptions during
Remove in the same matter Combine does?
uhm. actually i don't see msdn docs mentioning exceptions in either
case. could be combine is wrong as well.
[i can't find the quote you mentioned. where did you find that?]
