[Mono-list] Stubbed-class generator

Intel's implementation of the ecma standard is based on stubbed classes
generated from ECMA's XML files.
I've often wondered about the licensing implications of corcompare.exe
which extracts significant portions of metadata from the microsoft DLLs
(and compared with the equivalent mono info). The fact that it does it
using reflection may mean that it doesn't constitute 'disassembly', I'm
not sure... The legal ramifications of the tool you describe are
probably similar.
Piers.

Jon,
Several of us considered (and prototyped) tools like this before
deciding
that it was a bit too legally shaky of an approach. I wouldn't say that
we
spent all that much time exploring the legal ramifications, though. ;-)
