[Mono-list] Comparing .NET CLI implementations

That was the point. :) Being open-ended keeps people from being biased in
their response. I want to know about what YOU think differentiates Mono from
the other implementations.

For most people there are obvious differences between Microsoft's
implementation and Mono. However, many people are confused between Mono and
.GNU. Which project should a prospective contributor join? Which project
should a C# developer use for their applications? Will it depend on the type
of application? Etc
