Hi!

A few month ago I wrote about an interview with Ballmer on heise about
.net/mono.
Well there is a new one again. Don't missunderstand me - I want to see mono
succed - but
I also want to let you know what ms thinks about this.

Now in english [with my comments]:

Although Microsoft has diceded only to open parts of the .net framework
[this means the shard-source] he [Ballmer] says in an iX-Interview, that all
programmers can make use of the benefits of .net and explains, that .NET
should be made available on other platforms, too [I don't think he talks
about linux, too]. "This excapsially, that innovative ideas can be put in
real live, that arfe developed in science", says Ballmer.

The free .NET-Implementation mono will ot be supported by microsoft [well we
can't really expect this ;-)]. " We have the intellectual property on .NET.
Ich don't belive, that there will be a clon of the .NET-Framework from
anyone except microsoft", stes Steve Balmer self-confidently. [O.K. This is
the sentence why I mailed this thing.]

So what do you think about it? Has ms the "intellectual property" - I don't
think so!

But I think we should know that microsoft will do something against mono.

Regards,

Johannes.
