As you might know you can deploy .net-assemblies by http.
They are automaticaly downloaded, then. This feature will surely be often
used.

For some reason (I think it's microsoft strategy to catch parts of the
server market) you need iis and .net framework installed _AT THE SERVER_. I
can't imagine the server really needs that, as the assemblies are retrieved
simply by http. I think the framework checks wether it is installed, just
for fun.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but if not, how can we get linux/apache to simulate .net
is installed?
