Oh, please, people don't necessarily make architectural decisions
based on rational weighting of the appropriate criteria. DOS won over
MacOS, NT apprears to be beating the pants off of Solaris, and Visual
Basic has more users than probably every other high level language put
together. That's not to say that things can't win because of
technical superiority, but superiority alone is no reason to think
something will win out over a competitor.
