[Mono-list] any comments out there about this article

Andy,

I totally agree on the need for the JIT, compiler and such to be relased in
GPL. My problem is for the class library. If a non-free software with a
non-free license is run on top of a GPL'd mono class library, what happens?

This is ridiculous. By your account Mono may as well
use Shared Source, to be ok with Microsoft.

Remember, Mono is a Free Software project, and
supports the goal of advancing Free Software. The
license for the run time system should be either the
GPL, the GPL with exceptions (like the Guile
license/libgcc license), or the LGPL.
