[Mono-dev] Distinction between generic type and instance type

Hi Rafael,

Thanks, but if I'm understanding you right, I don't mean the distinction
between an instantiation of the generic type (if that's the right term) and
the generic type, I mean the difference between the constructed version of
the generic type (for accesses from within the generic type) and the open
generic type. I think my use of the term "instance type" may be less than
helpful here - I think part of the trouble is with terminology in that I'm
attempting to pin down whether there's a practical difference between the
two ways in which the compiler handles generic types.
