[Mono-dev] Bug 655153 - Alternate transports

I intend on using Mono to establish some Bluetooth connections, and I'm
running in to the same limitation as the 32Feet.NET project - it appears
that Mono forbids "unknown" socket address families, while .NET does not.
The bug has some good arguments for the patch - I don't understand why
it's marked as invalid. Could we could re-open this bug and/or apply the
patch?

In case you don't want to dig through its history, the most recent version
of the patch in that bug does not appear to change the interface, aside
from making it more tolerant - in the same way that .NET is.
