[Mono-dev] Different config files for mono pkg versus mono from source?

If anyone was interested, I found the config file i was looking for here
/Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/Version/2.10.8/etc/mono
When i copied that config file to ~/.mono I then got past that
particular error.
I see that it is still somewhat buggy (no more with my patch than
without it), but i can now remotely access my mac from my linux laptop
with vnc to troubleshoot further.
