[Mono-dev] 2.10 Backporting & Pull Requests

Per https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=853 there was a
request for a user to have this in 2.10.

I'm not sure how to submit pull requests on older versions, can someone guide?

i'm guessing if i
git checkout -b newbranch mono_repo/2.10
that will give me a 2.10 tree (presuming mono_repo is set up right)
But if i commit a change, then click 'pull request' in github's web
interface, what's to stop it from trying to merge
robwilkens/210branchfix with mono/master as opposed to 2.10?
