[Mono-dev] configure options for building 64bit mono for windows

Hi,
lately I did succeed building a 32 bit mono for windows using cygwin. From
what I understand compiling a 64 bit library from cygwin essentially means
cross-compiling. Therefore, I set the autogen.sh options host and target to
x86_64-w64-mingw32. Configuring like this was successful, but compilation
failed with an error complaining about a missing headerfile (direct.h: no
such file or directory). My question at the moment is just if you consider
it worthwhile to continue with this approach or if it's an ill-fated attempt
anyway.
