Hi,

"Is development in Windows possible for Mono?"
Yes. Can be more or less annoying, though, depending on what you work on.
You'll need git (a challenge in itself, if you're not familiar with it), and
you might need cygwin...

As for what to look into, this all depends on you. What would you like to
focus on? A certain API?
Find what you want to work on, then check out the sources.

Also, I believe the Mono team proposes certain subjects each year, so if
you're out of ideas, you could wait for them to bring up ideas.
