[Mono-dev] [PATCH] Suggested patch for bug #501666

Hello

Attached is my local solution of #501666 (reported by me). It also includes a test. Please review and if accepted, commit.

Also, I wonder what the best practice in a case like this is. Should I first report the found bug in bugzilla and then post patches here? Maybe only post patch on bugzilla? Or maybe just submit patch here and not filing a bug report if I also wrote a patch? I don't want to spam the list with suggested patches if this is not common practice.
