[Mono-dev] Bug 486705 Update / Fix?

Perhaps I'm missing something...  When I try to do that, it always tells me
that it's not supported:
"Running make from the mcs directory is not supported.  Run make from the
parent directory (is using a tarball)..."

For example:


cd /xyz/mono_2_4/mcs/class/System.XML

make

Would give me that message.
