I noticed the regression related to nunit-console in this 
thread and it made me think...

I could be wrong, but I don't believe any bug found in testing 
mono has ever been reported upstream to the NUnit project.
Yet the odds are that at least some of them are our fault. :-)

Any suggestions on this general (possible) problem?

I'll comment on the specific issue as soon as I recover
my id and password to the bug system.
