Yes, you can use just VS, not MD.
But look MoMa first to find not yet implemented modules.

I would like to make something clear!
Is it possible to run applications which i build in windows using visual
studio in Linux 
as it claimed to be or it means applications created with MonoDevelop to all
platforms?
It is a bit confusing...
