Mark Probst said he was going to work on it. For details see the  
recent thread "HEADS UP: Linear IR branch merge", it lists a pre-merge  
revision number.

As far as I could see, the changes are limited to the mini directory,  
so any AIX-related changes of yours to configure.in etc. should be  
unaffected.
