Well, Jörg pointed out the following: I'm not implementing the 
ServiceBase.Run method but just the OnStart which in turn launches a new 
thread. Maybe this is not the correct way to do it (although it has been 
running this way for almost 2 years now).

It does call Main (I've just checked) but, could happen that it makes some 
other change afterwards (I don't know, a different app domain or something 
like that...) ?
